I agree; I would rather something totally diff than a tote bag or none at all! I have about 5-6 from years ago I continually re-use. I def don’t need more! I don’t necessarily agree that Parisians don’t wear Sèzane bc I see them in it frequently and constantly hear French customers when I’m in the store (rarely!) They just don’t wear it head to toe and it’s much more subtle. I also see the older styles frequently bc French and especially Parisian women are less consumerist and generally have way less space so they make their clothes last.

Hi! Thanks so much for reading and commenting. I love your insight that locals might wear Sézane but not head-to-toe. What you say about their shopping habits reminds me of something Anna Eleri Hart wrote recently about the Parisian staff at Vestiaire having a tight edit on their wardrobes. The comments on Total Rec I referenced were from people living in Paris who said that Parisians wear vintage 501 Levi's, Agnes B and Petit Bateau, and "Sézane is a facsimile". The post also suggested that Sézane's quality may have dipped since taking on investment to expand into the US, so holding on to older styles or even seeking them out on resale sites makes sense. Most of all, I love to hear that you are continually reusing your tote bags. I'd love to see Sézane stop with the totes, but they're advertising a surprise gingham gift with the spring collection this week. Sigh! Thanks for sharing your great insights; I appreciate it!
